RETIREMENT
Only 5% of people ever achieve financial freedom. Millions of people are facing stressful situations as retirement age is creeping up on them, a time when they are supposed to enjoy comfortable, carefree living – but just won’t. People are at increasing risk of developing diseases as they age. The present acute care models of health service delivery are inadequate to address the health needs of rapidly ageing populations (WHO, 2001). As the population ages, the demand will continue to rise for approaches that delay and treat chronic diseases, alleviate pain and improve quality of life and provide long term care for older people.
FILAFUND
Given the high costs of institutional elder care, many countries, including South Africa, are encouraging older people to remain in community settings for as long as possible, but how would they survive if they cant live with their children? Accommodation in retirement has become an enormous issue in South Africa - and it will get worse. SASSA pensioners need to look for alternative options such as a communal home, sharing the cost of living and a 24hour care giver. The Filafund is a philantrophic trust fund provide support to help the elderly with daily meals, accomodation and care for the elderly and mentally ill and handicapped persons. (Altzheimers, Asthma, Bipolar, Dementia, Diabetes, Heart conditions, Schizophrenia, Stroke.)

Since 2001Young World Educare has been campaigning for the rights of vulnerable groups of people. Our efforts include creating public awareness around socio-economical issues adversely affecting almost all communities such as addiction, domestic violence, homelessness, people living in poverty and those living & working on the streets. Unemployment and woman surviving on prostitution also get our attention. For many years we focussed on children living in care facilities, children in foster care, adopted children and children living on the streets. Our research efforts provided a framework for child protection services in South Africa.
Since 2010 we focussed on people with mental illness, incl. personality and mood disorders- more often these sufferers come from a childhood background of abuse, neglect and sexual exploitation. Poverty and mental illness are definitely linked, but not everyoneone is poor.
It can happen to anyone.
Giving money is not the only way to make a diiference, tell us about your community issue and give us your goal, our team will put a plan into action to bring awareness.

World Mental Health Day was first celebrated 10 October 1992. It is a day for global mental health education, awareness and advocacy against social stigma. Young World will dedicate October to Mental Health, all activities ensure that people with mental ill conditions and disorders get the attention they deserve when we highlight the theme of 'Mental Health, in 2019 it is 'Promotion and suicide prevention’. 400 Million people (estimated) worldwide suffer from mental or neurological disorders. According to the WHO, more than 800,000 people die by suicide a year. It is time to build social connectedness. To develop healthy support environments we must encourage medication adherence and increase communication and access to care.
The YOUNG WORLD team is made of up individuals who are truley pationate about ALL people. Our connections in the community and experience with service programs and financial management enable us to make all donation go far.
By promoting exhibitions of Art, Dance, Music, Poetry, Photography and video we bring awareness and fundraise to provide this service with annual functions such as the 2019 Crazy Hat Masquerade Ball.
Let's create awareness, change perceptions, and support mental health research and mental health care world wide. An opportunity to remove the crazy stigma associated with psychological problems.

Young World Educare is about awareness education and we make it a worldwide effort to benefit groups of people living in adversity and oppression. Our longterm goal has always been to bring social change by creating awareness campaigns that will alter public perception and encourage action from important role players, including Government & NGO's, the private sector, national and international institutes, clinicians and research experts in the field.
YOUNG WORLD assist grass root groups and individual care givers who work voluntary without government support making a difference in their community by providing food supplies and caring for mentally challenged, disabled, ill patients and people suffering from psychiatric conditions, mood and personality disorders.
In the past we collected data on the Dynamics and magnitude of CANE (child abuse, neglect & exploitation) in South Africa and used research to recommend improvement of child well-being and prevention of CANE. Our contributions the past 20 years assisted with possible solutions (if implemented) to the Streetkid phenomenon and influenced strategic intervention, the research altered SA policies and guided amendment of child care laws.
Awareness can be a first step toward changing behavior; it could help shift cultural norms, it will change lives, bring positive energy and create a better future.
